Drawing the Ultimate Cell Phone - page 4 |
Choose the rectangle tool and create a rectangle 1.5 inches wide by 1 inch high and round the corners to 25. Align (Ctrl+A) the rectangle and the insert horizontally centered. Position it vertically about as shown. I’ll leave the creation of the rest of the display up to you. The large number was created by using the LCD font that comes with CorelDRAW. A dot matrix font would be more appropriate for today’s phones and is what I use for my product illustrations.
Choose the ellipse tool and create a circle 0.3 inches across. Convert the circle to curves (Ctrl+Q) and snap it to the outside node of the insert as shown. Change the nudge in your preferences (Ctrl+J) to 0.65 inches and nudge it down once. Go to the Transform Roll-up and apply an 80 percent reduction to a duplicate of the circle. Put the text PWR inside the inner circle. Something like Swiss 721 normal 6 point centered should work fine. Center the type with the align command.
Change your nudge preferences (Ctrl+J) to 0.4 inches, duplicate the circles and text and nudge down once. Note: make sure the "place duplicates" in your preferences is set to 0.00, 0.00. Change your nudge preferences to 0.5 inches, duplicate the circles and text and nudge right once. Dupe and nudge once more. Change the text on the bottom row of buttons to the following (from left to right) CLR, RCL, and STO. |
