Isometric Hardware Symbols - the Heads - page 4
Step 10
This cap head requires two views looking down. Dupe the cylinder and set aside. Dupe again and get the duped rectangle. Center and position the rectangle and trim it from the hex head. Delete the trimming rectangle and combine (Ctrl+L) the rest.
Get copies of the cross point and socket heads and create the other two representations.
Step 11
The Pan Head
Get another cylinder, delete the smaller ellipse and move the bottom up until it is within 2 inches of the top.
Delete the central nodes of the top of the bottom segment and convert the top to a straight line.
Use the Node Edit Tool to round the upper segments of the upper ellipse a bit as shown by the red line. Copy (Ctrl+C) that ellipse onto the clipboard.
Weld the ellipse and the base together.
Paste the ellipse back in.
Create the rectangles and position as shown. Break the ellipse at the major nodes and delete the top segment.
Trim the rectangles from the line and then delete the rectangles. The resulting lines are open objects and are unacceptable for a symbol library.
Break apart and dupe each segment and combine them. Then join the end nodes to close the shapes.
Nudge the center piece down a bit to complete softening the edge.
Dupe the pan head cylinder and set aside.
Step 12
We will change the order here to simply things and build the cross point first. Get dupes of the pan head cylinder and the cross point and align as shown. Break apart the cross and convert all of the long sides of the cross to curved segments and drag the center nodes up about 0.25 inches as shown by the red line.
Smooth the outside nodes with the Node Edit Tool.
Drag the inside portions above and below and snap the center nodes back into position as shown.
Use the Intersect command on the Shaping Docker to complete the creation phase. Combine everything together and dupe for the next step.
