Drawing Isometric Hoses - page 6

Engineering drawing of a "droopy" hose

OK I am at a loss as to what to call this thing. The reason for presenting it is because the difference between pipes and hoses is that hoses hang and drape fluidly. When creating hose drawings, always picture how the hose would hang in its environment.

Select the straight line pencil tool, click to start, constrain (Ctrl) and draw the following:
Segment 1 at 150 degrees.
Segment 2 at -135 degrees.
Segment 3 at -60 degrees.
Segment 4 at 60 degrees.
Segment 5 at -30 degrees.
Use the proportions shown to create this hose guideline.
Switch to the Node Edit Tool (F10), select the guideline, marquee select all of the nodes and using the Node Edit Roll-Up (Ctrl+F10) change all of the segments to curves. Select each end segment and change them back to straight lines. Marquee select all of the nodes and using the Node Edit Roll-Up (Ctrl+F10) smooth the nodes. Finally use the Node Edit Tool (F10) to adjust the handles to achieve a more natural curve. Save this curve for use in the last exercise.
