By applying a 120 degree rotation to duplicates of the ellipse you can rotate them through the isometric planes. Go to the Transform Roll-up and choose 120 degrees and apply to duplicate twice.
Rendering the ellipse:
Draw a square that is larger than the ellipse and fill it with black and send it to the back (Shift+Page Down).
Use only the top faced ellipse - delete the other two.
Select the ellipse then choose the Outline Pen tool and apply a black line 0.200 thick.
Duplicate the ellipse (Ctrl+D) and change the line to magenta, 0.003 thick.
Align all three objects by marquee selecting and Align (Ctrl+A) to the center of the page.
Deselect the square by clicking on it while holding down the shift key. The status line should indicate 2 objects selected.
Apply a Blend (Ctrl+B) with 20 steps.
