To create the upper fork copy the trace layer object that represents it and move it off to the side. Use the straight-line pencil tool to create the following plot lines. Bottom – 5 inches front to back, 6 inches down from the top –3 inches, Top – 1/2 inch. Position them as shown.
Connect the points for each fork. Convert the top segments to curves and smooth them.  Apply a contour with the following settings: Outside, 1 step, and 0.3 inch offset to each line. This will result in cylindrical objects that would be about 3/4 inches in diameter.
Separate each of the contours. Use the Node Edit Tool (F10) to delete the extra end nodes one at a time.
