Isometric Bike Wheel - page 5
Close to those ellipses create a line 1.5 inches long using the straight line pencil tool and Property Bar. Turn on Snap to Objects and duplicate the line and snap one end to another. Pick up both lines and snap them to an outside node of the middle ellipse. Duplicate the middle ellipse and snap it to the bottom position of the lower line. Use the Extrusion tool and drag it up. Now use the Property bar (extrusion) to apply the following: Same size back (the last option), x = 0.00, y = 3.00, VP Locked to object, Vanishing point relative to object center. Fill with white.
Move the 2 lines until they snap to an isometric axis of the larger ellipse. Select that ellipse and use the Extrusion tool and drag it up. Now use the Property bar (extrusion) to apply the following: Same size back (the last option), x = 0.00, y = 0.09, VP Locked to object, Vanishing point relative to object center. Fill with white. Move one extrusion to the bottom of the line, duplicate it and snap it to the top position. Adjust the front to back order as shown.
Duplicate the small center ellipse and move it up to the center of the top large extrusion. Bring it to the front and apply the Extrusion tool and drag it up. Now use the Property bar (extrusion) to apply the following: Small front (the second option), x = 0.00, y = 2.50, VP Locked to object, Vanishing point relative to object center. Fill with white. If needed adjust the front to back order as shown. Separate and ungroup everything. Group all of it back together. We won’t render anything until they are rotated and placed on the correct axis and position.
