Locating in Points Space - page 4 |
All that remains is to locate the groups properly. Turn on snap to objects and pick each layers group and snap the end of the 0.00 line to each of the remaining 0.00 line ends. Note the Fuselage and Wing Butt Lines overlap. We will fix that later in this series when I give you an intersect point (Station, Water and Fuselage Butt Line) for the wing root. Marquee select and move everything to the lower left corner of the page.
In practice the location information would be presented as shown in the accompanying illustration. A few things should be noted before we move on. First notice that the entire side of the aircraft is shown. Next notice that only one half of the front and top views exist. Earlier you learned that if nothing changed nothing would be shown. That applies to flipping the paper over (mirror) as well. The engine is shown separately to differentiate those station lines from the fuselage. The next few steps will give you the Station, Water and Butt Line that we will use in this series of tutorials.
