Construction of a Wheel in Isometric - page 1

Now that the hub and spokes have been completed we can focus on the rim and tire.

The Cross section shows what this part of the wheel looks like. The rim ellipse

(A) is 0.25 inch larger than the ellipse at the spoke ends (B).

The rim is 1 inch thick.

To create the rim ellipse duplicate the spoke end ellipse and with the lock closed on the Property Bar change the x dimension to 21.75 inches. You will now need a guide to move the rim ellipses the appropriate dimension. Create a vertical line 0.50 inches high. Dupe that line and turn on Snap to Objects and snap the top of one line to the bottom of another.
