Creating Isometric Sprockets & Chain Wheels - page 7
You should now have 7 sprockets, align them centered on themselves. Each sprocket should be offset 1degree counter clockwise from the next larger one. Use the Transform Docker to rotate the sprockets before we move on to the chain wheel.
The three Chain Wheels measure 4.5, 6.125, and 7.75 from back to front. They have a .625 width. Subtract two times that width (1.25 inches) from the Chain Wheel diameter to get the diameter of the inside circle. Create the three chain wheels now. Convert all of these circles to curves (Ctrl+Q).
4.5 inch Chain Wheel part 1.
Shift click pick up and move the smallest outside circle and it’s inside circle and move off to the side. Duplicate the cutout shape and snap the bottom of the cutout shape to the top of the large circle and super nudge it down once. Duplicate the cutout shape and snap the top to the bottom of the large circle. Super nudge it up once. Shift click select the cutout shapes and combine them. There are 32 teeth on this chain wheel, 360 degrees divided by 32 teeth equals 11.25 degrees. Activate the Transform Docker and switch to the rotation section and apply a rotation of 11.25 degrees to a duplicate 15 times.
