Isometric Angles - page 1

Angles are a common structural element. They are manufactured by bending them out from a single sheet of metal and are generally typified by their round corners. This month I will demonstrate the process by which easily constructed flat (orthographic) views can be created and then converted to an isometric view. Covered here are examples of a box beam, compound angle bracket, a retainer channel, and corner cover.

Create a 2 inch square by selecting the Rectangle Tool (F6) and constraining (Ctrl) while dragging and watching the status line for the dimension. Switch to the Node Edit (F10) Tool [also called the Shape Tool] and apply a 0.175 inch radius to the corners.
