To develop the connecting links, duplicate the blend and fill it with yellow. Select the path and remove the fill. Adjust the new blend to position it in-between the old links. Note: A few of the links may never line up properly we will adjust manually them later. |

Separate and ungroup the yellow blend and adjust the individual links to smooth everything out. |
 |
Shift click pick up all of the yellow links and change their color to 30 percent gray. Separate and ungroup the original blend then group it again. Delete the remaining path. |
