Drawing the Ultimate Cell Phone - page 2
Create a rectangle 1.75ches wide by 2 inches high by selecting the rectangle tool and dragging across the screen. Again the Property Bar can be used for minor corrections only since the corners will need to be rounded and corrections done with the Property Bar distort the result. Next apply a 30 roundness to the corners using the Property Bar. Then convert it to curves (Ctrl+Q).
Go to your preferences (Ctrl+J) and set the nudge to 0.01 inch. Choose the Node Edit Tool (F10) and marquee select the two bottom left nodes and nudge them to the left 6 times. Repeat for the right side except nudge to the right. Double click on the top line until you get the selection circle. Use the Node Edit Roll-up to change this line into a curve. Next select the top right node and hit the plus sign on the Node Edit Roll-up. Select the new node and nudge it up four times.
If you look back on the Engineering Drawing you will note that the top line looks much smoother than our result. To fix this, use the Node Edit Tool (F10) to select the top left node and while holding down the Constrain key (Ctrl) drag the inside handle up until the line is smooth. Repeat for the right side.
