CorelDRAW Verses CAD Round 2 - page 3
step06.jpg (3973 bytes) Repeat the process for the front of our building.
step07.jpg (10290 bytes) (A) Delete the horizon line and turn on Snap to Objects. Pick up the side near the top left corner and snap it to the top right corner of the front.
(B) Using the same data, I created this 3D CAD drawing. Sad, I know, but remember if I had allowed CorelDRAW to do it’s own thing the foreshortening would have been wrong. Remember my line about the marriage of software features? Combining foreshortening and the ability to turn on and off vanishing points would be nice features.
(C) Throw some color on your building and you are done. Looking at my color scheme it is obvious why I am not an exterior designer.
step08.jpg (9276 bytes) "I wish CorelDRAW would let me draw and then decide which view to use".
Look at this engineering drawing, for something as obvious as this control box, the front should be one of the sides (more important than the back) and the side with the label should be another. OK two down one side to go. Do you show the top or bottom? I would find out how the equipment was being used to determine which should be shown. Normally default to show the top.
