CorelDRAW Verses CAD Round 2 - page 6
step15.jpg (4932 bytes) Choose the rectangle tool (F6) and creating a1inch wide by 2.21-inch high object. Use the Property Bar to correct the dimensions. Use the Transform Roll-up to apply a 90-degree rotation to a duplicate of the rectangle. Turn on snap to objects and pick up the horizontal rectangle near the lower left corner and drag it until it snaps to the lower left of the vertical rectangle.

step16.jpg (5371 bytes) Select one of the rectangles and from the Arrange Menu choose Weld. When the Shaping Roll-up comes up turn off any checks under Leave Original choose Weld to and click on the other rectangle. The welding process creates some unnecessary nodes. Choose the Node Edit Tool (F10) and delete the extraneous nodes. From the IsoEval or Isometric Menu choose Front and then fill with white.
step17.jpg (5506 bytes) Get the combined squares from a few steps ago and from the IsoEval or Isometric Menu choose Side. Pick it up near the lower left corner and snap it to the front "L". If we were working in 3D CAD we wouldn’t have to worry about the missing inside line. Since we need to render this project all objects must be closed. Select the side and break apart (Ctrl+K) and from the Arrange Menu choose Order then Reverse order. Choose the inside square, duplicate (Ctrl+D) and then delete the top right node with the Node Edit Tool.
