Installing the Wings & Building the Engine Nacelles - page 3
step06.jpg (22116 bytes) Use the Contour Tool to apply an inside, single step contour with an 0.07 offset to all 10 ribs. Separate, ungroup (Ctrl+U) and Combine (Ctrl+L) each rib. They are shown with a white fill in this illustration.
step07.jpg (21495 bytes) Ribs 7 through 10 intersect the wing structure so we will need to trim off some of the lower parts. Create a rectangle large enough to cover half of each rib. Turn on Snap to Objects and snap the rectangles to the mid right outside node as shown. Check your preferences and make sure your nudge is set to 0.01 inch. Shift click each rectangle and nudge them right once.
step08.jpg (23454 bytes) Nudge each rectangle up by the following: Number 10 - 22 times, Number 9 - 21 times, Number 8 - 17 times, Number 7 - 10 times. Adjust the depth of each rectangle to cover the lower portion of the rib. Marquee select all of the ribs and convert them into Isometric fronts with your Iso Tools or Tech Drawing Tools add-in.
