Using CAD Data to produce isometrics - page 5 |
Open the engineering data file drivem4.cdr and import the motor you just completed onto Layer 1. Note that the scale of this drawing is one quarter that of that used to create the motor. Use the Transform Roll-Up to apply a 25% horizontal and vertical scale to the motor. Select each guide layer and convert to isometric faces as follows using the Transform Roll-Up: Front [red] and Section [magenta] - (Horizontal scale 86.6%, Skew vertical -30.0 degrees). Side [blue] - (Horizontal scale 86.6%, Skew vertical 30.0 degrees). Top [green] - (Vertical scale 86.6%, Skew horizontal -30 degrees, Rotate -30 degrees). Move the motor on layer 1 out of the way. Make sure Edit across layers or Multi layers is turned on.
Turn on Snap to Objects and align the Front [red] Side [blue] and Top [green] guides at the front-top-right corner [see inset]. Move the Section guide and align to the front-top-right corner of the back plate. Edit, Select All and apply a 240 degree rotation using the Transform Roll-Up.
To create the bottom plate duplicate the isometric guide objects on the Side [blue], Top [green] and Section [magenta] layers and constrain (Ctrl) move way down clearing everything by a very good margin. Ungroup (Ctrl+U) the Top [green] layer and move the lower rectangle to Layer 1. Repeat with the rectangles on the Side [blue] and Section [magenta] layers. Add the holes for the bearings using the Symbol Roll-Up size 0.6 inch and symbol #38 and drag over the position indicated by the three gear centers. Use the align (Ctrl+A) horizontal and vertical to fine tune the holes with the center holes of the gears. Change the size of the Symbol Roll-Up to 0.15 inch and drag and position 6 more symbol #38 where the motor mounting screw holes are located as indicated by the Front [red] layer. Resize the Symbol Roll-Up to 0.7 inch and drag and position symbol #39. Correct the height of the standoff symbol using the side [blue] layer as a guide. Fill with white, break apart (Ctrl+K) and group. Position using the Section [magenta] layer as a guide and duplicate (Ctrl+D) and reposition the other three symbols. Turn off Edit across layers of Multi Layer and delete all of the guide objects "down here only". |
