Trimming Objects - page 6 |
Engineering drawing of a clamping block.
Create two rectangles and a circle [constrain the ellipse (Ctrl)] imitating the proportions shown. Align everything [Edit, Select All] (Ctrl+A) vertically only. Correct any positioning and then combine (Ctrl+L) the circle and larger rectangle. Use the Trim command to remove the center of the block. Delete the trimming object and fill with white.
Now convert the shape to a top isometric view by using the
Transform Roll-Up and applying: "Vertical Scale 86.6 percent,
Horizontal Skew -30 degrees, Rotation -30 degrees". Add three nodes
by selecting the ones marked in black and add the node with the Node
Edit Roll-Up (Ctrl+F10). Extruding at this point will result in two extraneous lines. Use the Node Edit Tool (F10) and Node Edit Roll-Up to smooth those nodes. |
